Thursday morning, September 20, Denise England accompanied Mona and Bassem to visit the special education department at East High School in Des Moines. They joined Nancy Lister-Settle and Kathy Mahler, our friend from Companeros, for lunch in Valley Junction, West Des Moines, and visited Fair World Gallery. Fair World Gallery sells fair trade merchandise from around the world. The afternoon was spent visiting Ruby Van Meter School, a school for children and teens with disabilities, and then a stop at the presbytery. They visited with Kim Coulter, communications director of the presbytery, and joined up with Mary MacKenzie for a trip to Indianola for dinner with Trinity members, shown above.
